In our neighbourhood, life surrounds you. Whether it is casual coffee shops, urban bistros or fine dining, gourmet grocers, our world class boutiques or a gallery or two, they are all only a short stroll away.
Whether you are stopping at the shopping mall or one of our markets, you will find something to suit your taste, style and budget in Downtown Victoria. The spectacular beauty of the West Coast beaches, ocean, parks and trails are here to immerse yourself in.
Downstairs in our own building, Tim Horton’s offers you a variety of refreshments, and Flight Centre can take care of all of your travel needs.
Across the street is the oldest synagogue in Canada. There are also many heritage church buildings just a few blocks away. You can stop to admire the majestic Parliament Buildings, or you can maybe depart on a magnificent whale watching tour.
Bastion Square is the place to go to see street artists, artisans and other vendors seven days a week. A five minute walk away, and you will be at Market Square, which features numerous fashion and arts establishments as well as a broad range of delightful eateries.
Chinatown is the home of our historical Fan-Tan Alley, and to a variety of cultural stores, restaurants, and coffee/tea houses.
For the fitness enthusiasts, YMCA and Beacon Hill Park are nearby to meet your exercise needs.
The Inner Harbour features everything from restaurants and vendors to street entertainment, boat mooring, ferry/floatplane terminals with access to Seattle and Vancouver. Also located at the Harbour are horse- drawn carriage rides or our unique Harbour Ferries to provide you with a more romantic and fun alternative way to see some of the attractions in the area.
When you want to see the rest of our wonderful city, the best way to discover Victoria is on a double-decker bus. The sightseeing buses located directly in front of the Empress Hotel across from the Inner Harbour, offer spectacular scenic tours and a narration of some of our historic events that make Victoria a really interesting experience.
All of these features help to make our beautiful garden city one of the world’s great destinations and our neighbourhood one of the best places to choose for urban living.
